Irmgard Charlotte Steudte died on April 29 at the Westhampton Care Center.
Born in 1926 in Bad Lausick, Germany, she married Gerhard A. Steudte in 1947. She and her husband, with two young sons, immigrated to the United States in 1954 and eventually settled in Southampton.
A resident of Southampton Village for more than 60 years, she was often seen riding her bike or moped down Hill Street and around the village.
Her husband, Gerhard A. Steudte, and her daughter, Barbara E. Steudte, predeceased her. She is survived by her three sons, Harald Steudte and wife Susan, Christoph Steudte and wife Michele, and Steffen Steudte and wife Mary Ellen; grandchildren, Jennifer Steudte Parendo and husband Dr. Keith Parendo, Benjamin Steudte and wife Brittany Steudte, Christoph Steudte Jr., Stephanie Steudte, Steffen Steudte Jr., and Jesse Steudte; and great-grandchildren, Joseph Parendo, Charlotte Parendo and Michael Parendo. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Gerda Kohler, and brother-in-law, Klaus Gottschalk; and several nieces and nephews in Germany.
Visitation was on May 1 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A religious service was held during visitation. Cremation was private.
