Marjorie Sizer Maddock died on April 13 at her daughter’s Southampton home, with her family by her side. She was 87.
Ms. Maddock was born in Southampton on April 29, 1927, the daughter of William Sizer and Pearl (Doran) Sizer. She attended Tuckahoe School and graduated from Southampton High School.
She married Joseph Maddock on October 12, 1946, in Southampton and they lived at their North Highway home together for 63 years before his death in 2010. Ms. Maddock worked in retail at stores owned by the Billings family. She enjoyed gardening, yard sales, shopping, caring for her cats and local wildlife. She was a member of TOPS, regularly attending the Monday meetings and taking trips with friends she made among the membership.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Crittenden and husband John of California, and Carole Clair and husband Bill of Southampton; four grandchildren, Becky Gregory and husband Tim of Virginia, Stephanie Mercer and husband Trevor of Southampton, John Crittenden of Hawaii, and William Clair of Southampton; and four great-grandchildren, Scout, Enola, and Riplee Mercer and William Gregory.
A funeral was held on April 18 at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton, followed by burial at Southampton Cemetery.
