"New Southampton Town Police Chief Robert Pearce was sworn in at Town Hall on Thursday morning before a standing room only crowd of law enforcement officers from around the region." [... none of whom were from the STPD PBA.]
Congratulations and good luck, Chief Pearce. The lack of regard of Sergeant Gwinn and his cronies augers well for an effective tenure.
You level of integrity just took another hit. You cannot post here things you make up out of thin air.
On another note, Sister Jackie Walsh was mowed down and left to die on the side of the road on July 9th of last summer, FIVE MONTHS ago as of this coming Sunday.
Once the new Chief gets settled in, an update on this investigation would be appreciated.
Wow! Officer Gwinn is STILL a patrolman! No wonder he was out-of-control in that Town Council meeting where forced STPD retirements were on the agenda. Without the STPD, what would he be?
Since you claim that lots of STPD PBA members attended the swearing in, would you be so kind as to point them out in the photographs? (Pssst.)
to mrobin:
Former Chief Wilson, the PBA's man, tried to prevent Pearce from becoming Captain. The union cannot ...more be happy with his success, then or now.
And from reading the articles in this paper, Chief Wilson did not want Pearce promoted because there wasn't a Capt position in the budget. It was another successful attempt for the Republicans to payback a favor and make a position appear out of thin air.... add Pearces name right under Kratovilles
"This is an outrageous miscarriage of justice, and investigators should redouble their efforts to bring to justice the man who drove off to leave her to die -- as well as anyone who helped him elude capture."
Hopefully Chief Pearce is on this, and will update us, when the dust settles in his new administration.
Time to air the dirty laundry, if there is any!
Peace ...more on Earth.
Rest in Peace, Sister Walsh.
Rest in Peace, Sister Walsh, 25 weeks after you were mowed down and left to die on the side of the road.
Hopefully Chief Pearce and Supv. Throne-Holst have moved this case up to the top of the agenda for 2013.
