UPDATE, 1:45 p.m.

According to Mr. Motz, the main was repaired and service restored to the homeowners.

Original Story:

More than 300 homes in North Haven were without Suffolk County Water Authority service Thursday afternoon after a main broke earlier in the morning.

Suffolk County Water Authority crews responded to the water main break, which was reported at 9:30 a.m., according to Tim Motz, the director of communications for the SCWA.

The 8-inch water main is located in front of 90 Ferry Road, Mr. Motz said.

As of Thursday afternoon, crews were working on repairs, Mr. Motz said. It wasn’t clear how long the recovery would take.
