Elaine K. Kahl of Southampton died October 6 at the Bristal Assisted Living in Lake Grove. She was 72.
Ms. Kahl and her husband, Paul, who predeceased her, lived in Farmingdale until her retirement from Sperry Gyroscope where she had worked since high school. They spent weekends and vacations in Southampton Shores and then finally moved there full time after retirement.
According her longtime neighborhood friends familiar with her interests, Ms. Kahl was very active in civic activities, having served on the Southampton Shores Board of Trustees for many years and been a member of the Republican Club serving as co-chair of the Suffolk County Coalition for Legal Immigration/No Amnesty, and an activist in the East End Tea Party. Through the years, Ms. Kahl hosted many presentations on behalf of the Suffolk County Coalition for Legal Immigration/No Amnesty and several meet-and-greet events for the East End in support of Carl Paladino for governor and Lee Zeldin for congressman. She was a proud supporter of Judicial Watch and the Heritage Foundation.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Alda and Danny Cacciatore. She is survived by two sisters, Diane and Lynne; and a brother, Dennis; nieces, Lynne Marie, Carolyn, Erica, and Sabrina; and nephews, Peter and Christopher.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton, following visitation.
