Timothy J. Lynch Of Southampton Dies March 5

Timothy J. Lynch of Southampton died on March 5, 2017. He was 68.

A lifelong resident of Southampton, Mr. Lynch will be remembered as a loving father and successful businessman, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and active member of the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, including serving as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, survivors said.

Mr. Lynch is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan; their five children, Timothy Jr., Peter, John and wife Christine, Alexandra Grenier and husband Andrew, and Maryanne; and four grandchildren, Jasmine, Layla, Stella, and John Jr. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Lynch, 102; and seven siblings, Sr. Anne, RSM, James Jr. and wife Sharon, Gerald, Mary, Barbara Tanoff and husband Bob, Terence and wife Loretta, and Jeanne Diesing and husband Jay; along with 26 nieces and nephews, and family friends. He was predeceased by his father, James; and his sister, Kathleen.

Visiting hours were at O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton on March 7. A funeral Mass took place on Wednesday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton.

Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice, eeh.org, or a cancer research organization.
