Southampton High School senior Luke Collum has been recognized by the Rotary Club of Southampton as the Rotary Student of the Month for April. Luke earned the honor for his dedication to his studies and school community. At school, he is president of the Best Buddies Club, a member of the American Sign Language Club and co-founder of the Unified Sports Club. He also serves as captain of the varsity golf team and is a member of the varsity spring and winter track teams, as well as the cross country team. Outside of school, he is a member of the Southampton Fire Department Juniors program and Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and working with children with special needs.

He plans to major in golf management at Penn State in the fall.

Southampton Elementary School Student Council members delivered boxes and bags of food they had collected to the nonprofit organization, Heart of the Hamptons on April 10. The food was donated as part of the student council’s March community service project, in which they asked their peers to donate nonperishable food items throughout the month.

In addition to delivering the food, the student council members assisted in sorting and stocking the shelves of the food pantry and were given a tour of the facility.

“It was a great experience for all,” said student council co-adviser Lisa Carew.

Current President Colin Palmer is not seeking another term. Connelly, who lives in Riverhead, is a New York City firefighter. He and his wife, Bonnie, have two children, a daughter who is a sophomore at Riverhead High School and another who attends college. Greiner, Tunney To Run Unopposed for Remsenburg-Speonk School Board

Two candidates will run unopposed for the Remsenburg-Speonk School Board. Suellen Tunney, 46, a sales representative for a Manhattan wine distributor, will run for the seat being vacated by incumbent Jennifer Ashley, and Dr. Mary Greiner, an associate professor of education at Queens College and the board’s current vice president, will seek another three-year term. Tunney and her husband, Kevin Tunney, have lived in Remsenburg since 2017. Six Vying For Three Seats on Westhampton Beach’s Board of Education

A major shakeup is expected around the Westhampton Beach Board of Education. With board President Suzanne Mensch and trustee George R.
