North Sea community members met in front of the one-room schoolhouse on Noyac Road and Straight Path on Monday morning to remember those who died in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.

The memorial was put together by the North Sea Community Association, and at 8:46 a.m., organizers rang the school’s bell to mark the exact time the first plane hit the World Trade Center 16 years ago.

At the end of the memorial, members of the community joined hands and sang the Star-Spangled Banner.

As a survivor of the collapse of the World Trade Center during the attacks of September 11, 2001, I would like to personally thank those who organized and attended this event. Your kind words, thoughts, and prayers for those involved are greatly appreciated by all 16 years later.
