Richard P. Langhaar, formerly of North Sea, died on January 16, 2018, in Mrytle Beach, South Carolina, surrounded by his family. He was 67.
Mr. Langhaar was volunteer fireman with the North Sea Fire Department for more than 40 years. He came out to North Sea to be by his surrogate family at North Sea Farms and spent 10 years living and working and loving every minute of it, survivors said.
He is survived by his children, Richard J. Langhaar and April Langhaar, both of Hampton Bays; and a sister, Elizabeth Shenay of Mrytle Beach.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the North Sea Firehouse on Noyac Road.
