The Southampton softball team won two of its first four games this season before going on a nearly two-week hiatus due to games being postponed due to the poor weather that started the spring.

The Lady Mariners defeated Pierson/Bridgehampton, 21-0, at Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor on March 28. Taylor Pike went 4 for 5 with a home run and six RBIs while Stella Schoenberg went 3 for 4 with four RBIs. Samantha Wesnofske allowed only a single hit in the run-rule shortened game.

Southampton is not expected to take the field again until Tuesday, April 10, when it’s scheduled to host Port Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. It will host Mount Sinai the follow day, also at 4:30 p.m.

Pierson, which has started the season 0-3 and also had nearly two weeks off due to postponements, will host Harborfields on April 10 at 4:30 p.m. and will host East Hampton on April 13 at 4 p.m.
