Those attending the start of competitive play at the U.S. Open on Thursday morning will find compelling threesomes in both the morning and afternoon.

The USGA announced the tee times for the first two rounds of the 2018 U.S. Open Championship on Thursday, June 14, and Friday, June 15, at the 7,440-yard, par-70 Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

There are a number of interesting threesomes that headline Opening Day of The Open on Thursday. Bubba Watson, Jason Day and Brooks Koepka, last year’s U.S. Open Champion, tee off from the first hole at Shinnecock at 7:40 a.m. At 8:02 a.m., Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson tee off on the 10th hole.

In the afternoon, Ernie Els, Steve Stricker and Jim Furyk tee off on the 10th hole at 1:36 p.m.—and Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods tee off a short time later at No. 1, at 1:47 p.m.

The same threesomes will compete in the first two rounds, starting on No. 1 one day and No. 10 on the other.

The U.S. Open is a 72-hole, stroke-play competition. A field of 156 players will play 18 holes of stroke play on June 14 and 15, after which the field will be reduced to the low 60 scores and ties. Those players making the cut will play 18 holes each on June 16 and 17.

If there is a tie upon the completion of 72 holes, a two-hole aggregate playoff will immediately follow. If this playoff results in a tie, the tied players will immediately continue to play off hole-by-hole until the winner is determined.

Amateur players are marked below with an (a).
