A fully loaded cement truck rolled over in front of Cromer’s Market in Noyac last week, forcing emergency personnel to close Noyac Road.

Gary Anderson, 56, of Mastic Beach was driving the cement truck on Wednesday, February 6, at 11:13 a.m., according to Southampton Town Police Lieutenant Susan Ralph, when he rolled the cement truck onto its side.

Lt. Ralph said that when the truck stopped, it was partially in the Cromer’s Market parking lot and partially on Noyac Road.

Police closed Noyac Road to eastbound traffic between Oak Drive and Butcher Lane until 3 p.m., when the road was opened back up.

During the closure, a State Police motor carrier and tow truck responded to the scene to upright the cement truck and remove it from the scene, police said.

Mr. Anderson was not injured in the accident, Lt. Ralph said, but was charged with failing to maintain his lane and speeding, both traffic infractions.
