Stephen P. Radtke Of Southampton Dies April 6

Stephen P. Radtke of Southampton died on April 6, 2019. He was 58.

Known to many for his work at Ultimate Motor Werks, Mr. Radtke was born in the Bronx on February 18, 1961, to Charles J. Radtke and Ursula (McGarry) Radtke. He grew up in Merrick, graduating from Calhoun High School in 1979. He then went on to work at S&L Automotive Warehouse in North Bellmore, followed by the BMW/Mercedes dealerships in both Freeport and Southampton. He became an expert technician and service advisor; becoming certified by BMW North America.

In December 1988, he opened Ultimate Motor Werks in Southampton, providing personalized automotive service for his loyal customers until 2007.

Mr. Radtke was an avid collector of art, coins, guns and sports memorabilia. He gave generously to local charities.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Dr. Alexandra Halitsky of Southampton; his daughters, Rachel Radtke and husband Leroy Brown of Southampton and Dara Radtke of Florida; three grandchildren, Sentrell, J’Lynn and Liberty of Southampton; his mother, Ursula Radtke; and two brothers, Christopher (Barbara) and Gregory Radtke (Julie); nephews, Kyle and Dylan; and niece Grace Radtke; sisters-in-law, Nina Padavano and C. Carol Halitsky (Steve); and father-in-law, Victor Halitsky.

He was predeceased by his father, Charles J. Radtke.

The family received visitors at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton on April 12.
