Mary Harriss Galvin died at her Southampton home on June 24. She was 91.
Ms. Galvin followed politics and survivors said she was a conspiracist who always had a theory. She loved poetry and wrote her own for family, friends and special events. Survivors said she was a friend to many who remember her kind, pure heart, her unconventional point of view and her commitment to her faith. She loved the sun, the beach and the water and continued to love being in the sun until her very last days.
She was a graduate of Convent of the Scared Heart, Maplehurst, and Manhattanville College.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Jack; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Judith; four children, Abbeline Wyman, John F. Galvin IV, Maria Galvin and Robert Harriss Galvin; and four grandchildren, Nickolas Wyman, Victoria Wyman, Andrew Wyman and Maise “Star” Moises.
Visitation was held on June 29 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held on June 30 at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton. Burial was private.
