Mary Livingston Wall of Southampton, formerly of Upper Brookville, died on July 31. She was 88.
Ms. Wall graduated from Garrison Forest School and lived most of her life in Upper Brookville, where she raised her three children. Survivors said she was a gracious, warm-hearted lady who doted on her family. She enjoyed figure skating with her husband, maintained lovely gardens and took great interest in her expanding group of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked as the secretary at the C.W. Post Library Association. She was a member for many years of the Beaver Dam Winter Sports Club and the Southampton Bathing Corporation.
Ms. Wall was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, F. William Wall; and a brother, Johnston Livingston. She is survived by three children, Linda Schieffelin and husband John of Rhode Island, William and wife Sarah of Hawaii, and Helene Fagan and husband Paul of Southampton; and eight grandchildren, Cooper L. Schieffelin, Peter L. Schieffelin, Nicholas W. Schieffelin, Julia S. Schieffelin, Sophie Wall, Ella Wall, Duke K. Fagan and James L. Fagan; and one great-grandchild, Alexander J. Schieffelin.
Funeral services were private.
