Junior point guard Thomas King came up big for the East Hampton boys basketball team again this week.
Just five days after making a game-saving block and leading his team in scoring in an overtime win at Bayport/Blue Point, King was the hero again in a 57-56 home win over Shoreham/Wading River on January 10.
Shoreham was clinging to a one-point lead with eight seconds left, but after missing a free throw, King corralled the rebound and drove the length of the court, connecting on a lay-up at the buzzer that gave the Bonackers the win.
East Hampton head coach Bill McKee was impressed with King’s poise at the end of the game.
