Sebonack In Early Stages Of Preparing For Women's Open

When owner Michael Pascucci unveiled his brand new Sebonack Golf Course in Southampton in 2006, he touted, among other qualities, its ability to stand proud next to its revered and world-renowned neighbors, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and National Golf Links of America.

Now, the prestigious private golf course, designed by Tom Doak and Jack Nicklaus, will have the resume to back it up.

Sebonack was chosen by the U.S. Golf Association to host the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open, which will take place June 24-30. While the tournament is more than a year away, preparations for hosting the event are already underway.

More than 130,000 spectators are expected to attend and watch the field of 156 of the world’s best female golfers, both professional and amateur, battle it out over 72 holes of stroke... more
