Dominique Taylor’s off-court persona is pretty much the polar opposite of what she represents while on the floor for the Southampton girls basketball team. Tall, graceful and slender, the junior forward looks better suited for a fashion runway than the hardwood.
But looks can be deceiving.
Taylor quietly built a role for herself and found a place in the starting lineup last season, based solely on her skills as a tenacious rebounder and defender, rarely showing up in the scoring column. But in the Suffolk County Class B Championship against Hampton Bays at St. Joseph’s College on Tuesday night, she came up with undoubtedly the biggest points of her career.
