Marjorie Sentenac of Hampton Bays died September 5 at home. She was 93.
Born to Hungarian immigrants in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, she grew up in a cold-water flat, the youngest of four sisters, in the pre-World War II days when they enjoyed parties, dances, dinners and much laughter.
Ms. Sentenac grew to be a petite woman and was known for pink lipstick, blond curls and a Brooklyn accent that never lost its edge. Survivors said she loved ducks, clowns and shopping, and was known for her pot roast, and for making hand-knitted warm wool socks.
A survivor of breast and colon cancer, she was known to be a good sport.
Ms. Sentenac is survived by three children, Kevin, who lived with and cared for her, Carol and Dennis; and a granddaughter, Hannah. She also leaves her dog, Frankie. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Diane; her husband, Octave; and three sisters, Anne, Marion and Fran.
Visitation was at O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Burial followed at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
