Eve Houlihan died at her home in Hampton Bays on September 27. She was 72.
As a member of the board of the Hampton Bays Civic Association, Ms. Houlihan was known to be knowledgeable and well-prepared concerning issues that affect the hamlet of Hampton Bays, as well as the town as a whole, according to survivors.
She was born on November 30, 1942, in Darmstadt, Germany, emigrating to American with her father when she was a young girl.
Ms. Houlihan was predeceased by her longtime companion, John Mazzella. She is survived by a sister, Veronica Hamilton; a brother-in-law, Bert; and nephew, Andre. She is also survived by the family of Mr. Mazzella, his daughter, Kim; sons, Jay and Paul; and numerous sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on October 3 at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. Arrangements were under the direction of the R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.
