John Peter Martinolich of Flanders, formerly of Hampton Bays, died at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson on November 4, after a long illness. He was 58.
Mr. Martinolich worked as a carpenter on eastern Long Island for most of his life.
He is survived by his partner, Laura Reiser, of Flanders; his mother, Elsie Martinolich, and stepfather, Lawrence P. Josephson, of Hampton Bays; his father, John Martin, and stepmother, Susan Martin of Southampton; sons, John Martinolich of Manhattan, Andrew Martinolich of Maine, Peter Martinolich of Flanders, Tommy Gillen of Mastic and Ian Gillen of North Carolina; and five grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie L. Martinolich and Elsie L. Martinolich, both of Maine.
A funeral Mass was held at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays on November 9, followed by burial in the family plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram. Arrangements were under the direction of the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.
