When it came time for Pawel Golyski to do his crowning good deed, he did what other Boy Scouts had done before him: he returned to his roots at St. Rosalie’s Roman Catholic Church in Hampton Bays.
The 17-year-old from Hampton Bays officially became an Eagle Scout in a ceremony on Saturday, after he finished refurbishing a playground behind the church’s Parish Center earlier this year. The playground, which has been the beneficiary of at least one past Eagle Scout project, is currently used by the preschool of Our Lady of the Hamptons Regional Catholic School, which operates out of the Parish Center there.
But years ago, when Pawel was a child, the Parish Center building on Montauk Highway had a different purpose—it’s where he attended religious formation classes through his parish.
