The Hampton Bays wrestling team might be inexperienced in many of its lower weight classes, but most Bayman battling in the higher weight classes are starting to shine as the regular season comes to a close this week.
Hampton Bays lost at home to Port Jefferson, 52-22, last Thursday, January 26, though the match clearly displayed how its wrestlers in the higher weight categories are faring.
Port Jefferson won nine of the first 10 matches over Hampton Bays, with their lone loss coming when Baymen Anthony Mora (113 pounds) pinned Royal Tanner Martone in 1:55. Victor Alamo (120 pounds) took a tough loss after being illegally slammed to the mat on his shoulder by Royal Anthony Vecchia.
