The Hampton Bays wrestling team was busy last week: After losing a close match, 42-36, at Port Jefferson on January 23, the Baymen came back to defeat Stony Brook, 61-8, at home on Friday. Then, on Saturday, Hampton Bays took part in the very competitive John Glenn Duals at Elwood/John Glenn High School on Saturday.
The Baymen’s top three wrestlers—junior Cody Nolan and seniors Kevin Giron and Eddie Perez—all had very good weeks. Nolan won three of his matches, two by pin and one by decision. Giron and Perez also won three matches, two by pin.
Shawn Bowen and Ralph Oswald both won two matches throughout the week, and Travis Flynn, John Nolan and Erik Ramirez all picked up victories as well.
