Following a months-long investigation, a Westhampton man was arrested on March 6 by New York State Police officers and charged with six counts of promoting and possessing child pornography. The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation is reviewing a fatal vehicle-versus-pedestrian car accident in Hampton Bays on January 8 in which an off-duty Quogue Village Police officer was the driver. The officer was driving his personal vehicle at 10:52 a.m. when he made a left turn from Good Ground Road onto Ponquogue Avenue and struck Margaret Lucey, who was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
