John Tedesco Sr. of Hampton Bays died on January 19 at Southampton Hospital. He was 96.
Mr. Tedesco was a self-employed builder in Hampton Bays. He was the president of Tedesco Building, along with his sons. He was the founder and owner of Terry’s Motel and Cottages for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce and was also a past president of the Suffolk County Building Association. In his later years, he was very involved with the Southampton Town Senior Center.
Mr. Tedesco is survived by his two sons, John and wife Susan of Sherborne and Michael and wife Paulette of Hampton Bays; a brother, Sam Tedesco of Oyster Bay; and seven grandchildren, John Frances Tedesco, Lisa Rice and husband Robert, Theresa Tedesco and spouse Elena, Suzanne Guzewich and husband Eric, Donna Tedesco, Michael Tedesco and wife Jennifer, and Joseph Tedesco and wife Lauren. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Sarah, Robert, Ethan, Timothy, John, Nicholas, Tyler, Emily, Ryan, Aubrey and Caitlyn. He was predeceased by his wife, Therese (Mignone).
Visitation was at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass was said at the Church of St. Rosalie. Burial, alongside his wife, was at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
