Investigators armed with a search warrant arrested eight people—five men and three women—at a Hampton Bays home during the evening of July 11, charging them with an assortment of prostitution and drug charges.

Members of the State Police Narcotics Enforcement Unit, working with the East End Drug Task Force and Southampton Town Police, made the arrests shortly before 7 p.m. when they raided a house on Foster Avenue. The warrant, police said, was secured as part of an investigation targeting prostitution and illicit drug sales.

Wilmer Neira, 21, who police said lives at the residence, was charged with felony third-degree promotion of prostitution. Also charged with the same crime were Christian Diaz Paz, 21, for whom police did not provide a hometown, and Israel Bustillo, 19, of Flanders.

Mr. Diaz Paz was also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, also a felony, and misdemeanor false personation, authorities said. Police said he was also wanted on a bench warrant issued by Riverhead Town on unrelated charges that included second-degree criminal trespassing and reckless driving, both misdemeanors, and a separate warrant issued by Southampton Town for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Mr. Diaz Paz was arraigned on July 12 in Southampton Town Justice Court in Hampton Bays and later remanded to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside after failing to post $30,000 cash bail, authorities said.

Mr. Neira was charged with the single felony count, arraigned the next day and remanded to the Suffolk County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail, police said.

In addition to the felony promotion of prostitution count, Mr. Bustillo was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police said he was in possession of a quantity of cocaine at the time of his arrest. Mr. Bustillo was arraigned on the same day and also remanded to county jail after failing to post $1,000 cash bail, according to authorities.

Both Julian Alberto, 39, of Mattituck and Fredy Oswaldo Espana-Tubac of Flanders were charged with third-degree patronizing a prostitute, a misdemeanor, police said. Both men were arraigned and remanded to prison after failing to post bail; Mr. Alberto was held on $5,000 cash bail, Mr. Espana-Tubac on $2,500.

Additionally, Alondra Rivera, 20, of the Bronx and Flora Cabra Tavera, 41, of West New York, New Jersey, were charged with prostitution, a misdemeanor, police said. Both women were issued tickets and ordered to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court on Friday, August 18.

Finally, a 20-year-old woman who lives at the Foster Avenue house was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police cited her and she must appear in court on August 18.
