Darrell J. Sharpelletti, Esq., died on March 9 at his home in Hampton Bays.
A native of Sag Harbor, Mr. Sharpelletti graduated from Pierson High School in 1974. He was the first in his family to attend college, earning a degree from Long Island University, Southampton College Campus, in 1980. He then went on to earn his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1983 and was admitted to the practice of law in New York that same year. He practiced law as a solo practitioner for nearly 35 years, with an office in Riverhead, for most of that time.
Mr. Sharpelletti was an avid traveler, but his favorite place to be was the ocean at Flying Point Beach, where he could be found on many a summer day.
He is survived by his children, Ryan and Stephanie Sharpelletti, and their mother, Stacey (Smith) Sharpelletti of Southampton; two brothers, Mark of Pennsylvania and Christopher of South Carolina; and his mother, Harriet (Jones) Sharpelletti of Sag Harbor. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Sharpelletti, alongside whom he has been laid to rest.
