Claire Conlon, known to friends as “Cookie,” died at the University of North Carolina Hospital on January 8, 2019. She was 64.
Born on July 2, 1954, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, she attended St Agatha’s Elementary School in Brooklyn, and graduated from Hampton Bays High School in 1972.
Survivors said her loving spirit and larger-than-life personality were loved by many, and got her through tough days in her last few months. She remained strong and even encouraged others going through similar battles.
Ms. Conlon is survived by her mother, Claire Mason of Hampton Bays; her two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ryan Conlon (Vicki) of North Carolina and Eric (Heather) Conlon of Tennessee; Chico Trent, for whom she was an honorary mother, (Sarah) of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kailei, Addison, Makenzie, Ryleigh, Evan, Logan and Brennan; siblings Henry (Arlene) Mason and Jennifer Mason-Palma (Edwin) of Hampton Bays; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Peter McGuinness.
A memorial service will be held on February 2, 2019, at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.
