Timothy J. Carey of Hampton Bays died at his home on May 8 after a battle with cancer. He was 59.
Mr. Carey was the assistant director of the Catholic Guardian Society for New York City and Long Island. He was a member of the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance for 20 years; he was a founder of the organization and had served as both a chief and chairman of the board.
Mr. Carey is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carole; a son, Kevin M. Carey of Hampton Bays; a daughter, Jennifer Fallo and husband Paul, also of Hampton Bays; a brother, Peter Carey and wife Mary of Buffalo; and a niece, Anna Carey.
Visiting hours took place on May 12 and 13 at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. The Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps held a service at 7:30 p.m. on May 13. A funeral Mass was held at the Church of St. Rosalie on Wednesday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. Burial followed at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
