Former Sagaponack School Board President Runs for Board in Uncontested Election

The lone seat up for election in the Sagaponack School District will be uncontested after a former school board member signed up to run for a seat being vacated by current board member Lauren Thayer. Thayer, who has been on the board for six years, chose not to run for a third term, but former board member Brian Villante agreed to run to return to the board in her place. The School Board race in Riverhead will be uncontested this year, as board Vice President Brian Connelly will seek another three-year term. He will be joined by newcomer Kelly Freeborn on the ballot.
