Vincent McGuire of Hampton Bays died on Monday, February 9, at his home in Hampton Bays. He was 78.
Mr. McGuire was born December 14, 1936, in the Bronx to Patrick and Caroline (Keegan) McGuire. In 1964 he married Brigid Biggins, who predeceased him. The couple moved to Floral Park where they raised seven children. He was a graduate of Manhattan College and worked as a federal agent until he retired in 1986. Upon retirement he learned to play the bagpipes and joined the County Tyrone Pipe Band. He was involved with Little League baseball and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors said his many passions included owning thoroughbred horses, listening to Irish music, and spending summers with his family in the Hamptons.
Mr. McGuire is survived by seven children, Sean McGuire and wife Maureen, Kathleen Kelly and husband Timothy, Anne Brady, Eileen Gillespie and husband Joseph, Vincent McGuire and wife Jennie, Brian McGuire and wife Christine, and Kevin McGuire and fiancée Eileen; 17 grandchildren, Brigid, Kelly, Paige, Kristin, Brendan, Timothy, Vincent, Thomas, Emily, Dylan, Aidan, Kaitlyn, Mairead, Declan, Kieran, Meghan and Michael; and siblings, Caroline and Frank; and longtime companion, Jean Quinn. He was predeceased by in death by a daughter, Patricia McGuire, who died as an infant; and his second wife, Lorraine Reilly-McGuire; and a son-in-law, Sean Brady.
Visitation was held on February 12 at R. Stutzmann & Son Funeral Home in Queens Village. A funeral Mass took place on February 13 at St. Gregory the Great in Bellerose. Burial followed at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale. Memorial donations may be sent to DDI Foundation, 99 Hollywood Drive, Smithtown, NY 11787, in honor of his granddaughter, Kristin Kelly.
