The Ronjo Motel in Montauk is in contract to be sold to Chris Jones of Sag Harbor and Larry Siedlick of East Hampton. The plan is to renovate it into a new hotel called the Montauk Beach House, Mr. Jones confirmed last week.
With its two-story tiki—a favorite backdrop for visitors with cameras—and gargoyle-guarded fountain, the Polynesian-themed resort has been a sort of landmark in downtown Montauk for decades. It’s within walking distance of the ocean beaches and has three buildings, including one now used as an office and studio apartment, according to a listing with Atlantic Beach Realty.
