Virginia R. Erario of Jensen Beach, Florida, and Montauk died on May 17. She was 91.
Born in Brooklyn in 1922, she attended John Adams High School in Queens. As an active member of Nettles Island in Jensen Beach, she enjoyed playing tennis, bocce and was known as the “Queen of mahjong.” She taught many to play the game in Florida and at the Montauk Community Senior Center.
Ms. Erario was predeceased by her husband, Vincent J. Erario, in 1984. She is survived by four children, Virginia M. Sayers and husband John of Montauk, Anthony J. Erario and wife Pamela of Florida, Marian F. Price of Yaphank, and Vincent J. Erario Jr. of Georgia; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is being planned at her home in Montauk on a date that is to be determined.
