Louisa Antoinette Smith of Speonk, formerly of Sag Harbor, died March 29 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 68.
Born on March 16, 1947, in Sag Harbor, to Angelo and Angelina Caputo, she attended Pierson High School, graduating in 1966, and attended the Mandl School for Medical Assistants, completing the course work in 1967. Before devoting herself to making a home for her family, she worked at Southampton Hospital as a ward clerk for 10 years, and for the Sag Harbor movie theater.
She is survived by her husband, Frank H. Smith III; a son, Frank H. Smith IV of Mastic; and one grandchild, Elise Angelina Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two brothers, Gino Caputo of Sag Harbor and Joseph Caputo of Brooklyn and Sag Harbor. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Caputo-Vinje and Mary Caputo-Rinaldi.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. Burial was at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Sag Harbor.
