Marianne Cook of Manorville died on April 11. She was 88.
Born in Cologne, Germany, on July 14, 1926, she had lived in Riverhead and Center Moriches before settling in Manorville. She was a professional dog handler and breeder, and the owner and operator of White Oak Kennels. She also served for many years in various offices with the Riverhead Kennel Club, including a long tenure as president. Ms. Cook was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence M. Cook. She is survived by four children, Ronald Canner and wife Judy, Joanne Canner and husband Bill Schmidt, Glenn Cook and wife Mary Ann, and Jessica Cook Gore; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 17, at Sinnicksons Moriches Funeral Home in Center Moriches.
