Monica Chant Meyer of Remsenburg died in her sleep on Monday, November 3. She was 86.
Ms. Meyer was born in Somerset County, England on February 20, 1928 and emigrated to the United States after World War II. She was the co-author of “Shellfish Cookery,” published by Macmillan. Survivors said she dearly loved her home, garden and pets; all animals were always welcome at her home.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Frederick F. Meyer, she is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Meyer of Philadelphia and Jennifer Martinuzzi and husband Eric of Minnesota; and four grandchildren, Paul and Eva Martinuzzi, and Fudia and Effy Kmeika.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Remsenburg Academy, 130 South Country Road, Remsenburg.
