Paul Grant Hansen of Sag Harbor died in a car accident on August 30. He was 53.
Mr. Hansen graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 1984 with a degree in hospitality management and earned a master’s degree from Dowling College. Mr. Hansen was a real estate broker and home builder with projects on the East End, including in his hometown of Sag Harbor.
Survivors said that his favorite role was being a father. He enjoyed kiteboarding at Long Beach, taking his sons snowboarding in Vermont, lounging and surfing at Sagg Main beach, being a Cub Scout leader, golfing, fishing and spending time with his friends and large family.
“No one will ever be able to say, ‘It’s too bad Paul never got to try this’ or ‘If only Paul had done that,’ because Paul did everything! Take a lesson from Paul and live life to overflowing every day,” said his brother John.
Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Hunter and Austin; his father, George; siblings, Kathleen, Thomas, Robert, John and his twin sister, Susan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Jane, and a brother, Stephen.
