Whalers Beat Rival Killer Bees In Front Of Raucous Home Crowd

Going into the boys basketball rivalry showdown between the Whalers and Killer Bees in Pierson’s gym on Friday night, Bridgehampton presumably was the team with more motivation. The Killer Bees were trounced by 20 points by Pierson in the Hive in the League VIII opener on December 16, and were seeking revenge, eager to prove that they could go toe-to-toe with their nearby rival.

The Whalers, however, had other ideas.

Bolstered by a standing-room only crowd, Pierson jumped all over Bridgehampton from the opening tip, taking a 20-3 first quarter lead en route to a 73-57 victory.
