Judith Mary (O’Malley) Caputo of Sag Harbor and Brooklyn died on January 25, with her family at her side. She was 75.
Born on March 18, 1938, in Brooklyn, she attended St. Saviour High School in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and graduated from Marymount College (now Marymount Manhattan College) with a degree in biology. She became a high school science teacher and worked at John Adams High School, Prospect Heights High School and John Jay High School. The family had homes in Brooklyn and Sag Harbor, where they spent weekends, holidays and summers together. After retiring, they spent considerable time in Sag Harbor and relished visits from their grandchildren.
Ms. Caputo is survived by her husband, Joseph; and four children, James and wife Kristin, Judith, Jennifer and husband Fabio, and Jacqueline; and three grandchildren, James, Matthew and Rowan Caputo. She is also survived by extended family in California, New York and Florida.
A funeral Mass was said at St. Saviour’s in Park Slope. A graveside service took place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Sag Harbor. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.
