Organizers estimated that some 600 marchers turned out for the Sag Harbor Women’s March on Saturday, carrying signs with messages of solidarity. County Legislator Bridget Fleming, above, Pierson High School senior Sinead Murray and Laurie Marsden, a social worker, psychotherapist and women’s rights activist, spoke at Long Wharf before the march up Main Street began.

Who gives these left wing Democrats the right to act as if their views represent all women? Unless you support illegal immigration, late term abortions, socialization of health care, punitive taxation and redistribution you're not a woman? Before the election, these same women wanted to see a rapist and his enabler walk back into the White House.
By NateNewtown (57), east on Jan 20, 18 5:19 PM
Agreed. They are a bunch of loud mouthed hypocrites. They want to shut down and shut out any opinions but their own. They still can't believe that the majority of Americans want our government to put citizens first, and to spend our tax dollars wisely.
By Babyboo (247), Hampton Bays on Jan 20, 18 6:22 PM
Hey Nate, only you have a right to express your views? Mad because women will no longer accept second-class status and mysogynistic b-shit like yours and the rapist in the WH? But more importantly, what gives you the right to attribute inaccurate positions to the women you think have no right to express theirs? Until you grow a uterus, Newtie, skidoo okay?
By June Bug (2165), SOUTHAMPTON on Jan 20, 18 7:27 PM
I don't typically respond to intellectually retrograde, partisan rants, but I'll amuse myself for a moment.

1) They are perfectly free to express their views, as the left wing of the Democrat party, not "Women" as a whole, a deceptive representation, a deliberate deception.

2) As usual, your attacks lack specifics, resorting to little more than name calling. Misogynistic? No, it's you who believes possession of female genetalia requires support of leftist causes, lest they be stripped ...more

Are pro-life woman welcome in this march? Women who support robust 2nd amendment rights? I wonder if the Angel Moms, the mothers of victims of illegal alien criminals would have been welcomed.

So there's a litmus test for the only legitimate grievances in a society where remnants of patriarchy are alive and well? Who knew? Only legitimate for those women who oppose reproductive freedom, who oppose sensible gun laws, and those who have suffered loss at the hands of the undocumented but not at the hands of the far more numerous homegrown terrorists? Only Democratic women suffer sexual harassment or are victims of assault and rape? Only Democratic women had their reproductive ...more

I wanted to respond to joe hampton's reaction to my post of Jan 21 which referred to a rollback in women's rights including coverages for women's health services and reproductive rights wherein he wrongly asserted that I (and anyone) who is pro-choice is automatically pro-murder. I think the Press has to change the comment format. I thinks it’s time to eliminate the ability to comment anonymously. Perhaps follow the News Review where your Facebook profile is associated with your posts. If the people posting these comments had to put their name underneath perhaps the vile rhetoric would at least be slightly curbed. I can’t even bring myself to read this paper any more due to the spewing of hate it exposes me to on both sides.

There's actually some really interesting research that indicates the opposite of what you would expect: communities that require users to use real names usually result in the only people willing to comment being those who don't mind having their real names associated with their (often fringe) beliefs.

Since the level of discussion doesn't actually rise, it pushes all rational people out of the discussion. I think there's a Radiolab on it!

It's hard to take the movement seriously when they can't seem to stop ripping each other apart. Example: Jane Fonda, Megan kelly...all the women on the view, Megan kelly, joy behar calling Megan kelly a b**ch, that whack job Rosie odonell attacking Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the list goes on....All successful powerful women, except as been Rosie, resorting to name calling and childish behavior. And when you boil it down to the start of this movement, what or who gives Hollywood, a land of make believe ...more

Go march in Saudi Arabia, tell me how that works out for you.
What a joke this march was, in one of the most detached and privileged areas of this country. Women are so oppressed in America, get a grip.

As if patriarchy and mysogyny are restricted geographically. March was world-wide, and the largest gathering in history. Get yourself up to speed, why don't you?

Anything to do with Linda Sarsour and Rasmea Odeh is not exactly female friendly.
Remember what Linda had to say about Ayaan Hirsi Ali ? It was quite disgusting considering what Ali endured. Linda "I was an ordinary white girl" Sarsour thinks she is more of an authority on living under Islamic rule than Ayaan Ali. Last time I checked Brooklyn is a little more relaxed than Mogadishu.

Trump’s EPA just ended a key policy under the Clean Air Act. Here are a few of the pollutants you will be breathing more of as a result:

Asbestos
Arsenic
Benzene
Chloroform
Cyanide
Formaldehyde
Lead
Mercury

If you're panicking about this, try to not take a deep breath.
