On Saturday, December 1, Sheila Nevins, veteran producer and president of HBO Documentary Films for nearly 40 years (from 1979 to spring 2018), will be honored with the Lumiere Career Achievement Award at the Hamptons Doc Fest’s gala after a wine and buffet reception at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, which begins at 7 p.m. After the award presentation, Ms. Nevins will be interviewed by award-winning filmmaker Mark Levin, and two of her executive-produced films will be screened: “Triangle: Remembering the Fire” (40 minutes), about the Triangle Shirt Waist Factory fire in 1911, and “The Number on Great Grandpa’s Arm,” (19 minutes), about an Auschwitz survivor.Tickets for all screenings and events are available online at hamptonsdocfest.com and baystreet.org and at the Bay Street Theater box office in Sag Harbor, 631-725-9500.
Tickets to films are $15 for adults and $13 for senior citizens (no online sales). Friday and Sunday night Spotlight films are $25. The Saturday Night Gala is $50. A four-day pass, including Saturday night’s gala, is $150. On Monday, December 3, Douglas Elliman Community Day, all films are free with no tickets required.
