It is winter, but it’s still a hot time in the Village of Sag Harbor, which is obviously no longer the “un-Hampton.”
The Main Street area has proven particularly appealing to buyers, with one recent example being the purchase of 232 Main Street by Michelle and Stephen DiBiasi for $6.27 million. The 4,940-square-foot manse on 0.35 acre has five bedrooms and 7.5 baths. Set in the heart of fabled Captain’s Row, it features a heated pool, a pool house with kitchenette, and an outdoor shower. The open plan on the first floor includes a large kitchen with Quartzite countertops and La Cornue range, a great room with Danby marble fireplace, a dining area, and a walnut-paneled library. The first-floor guest master suite has French doors leading to one of two patios. Upstairs, there are two more en-suite guest bedrooms, a large master suite overlooking the grounds, and a full laundry. The lower level has full-height windows throughout, with space for a large media/seating area, game tables, and a full entertaining bar.
Has A.A. Milne come back to life and moved to Sag Harbor? In the downtown area, 83 Main Street and 80 Division Street have sold for $6.13 million and $1.4 million, respectively, to Eeyore LLC, and 11 Washington Street, a vacant lot, has sold for $1.48 million to Sag Harbor Roo LLC. Some regular readers will recognize that this comprises the sale of a commercial complex that was first reported on 27east.com a couple of months ago. We don’t have any details about another vacant lot being sold, this one on Sag Harbor Court, other than a very handsome purchase price of $5.84 million.
Stepping outside the village for a minute—but still in Sag Harbor—Claudia and Douglas Morse are the new owners of 41 Crescent Street, after paying $4.07 million. The 2,500-square-foot house on 0.61 acre has four bedrooms and five baths. Features include a saline mirror-edge pool and spa, two fireplaces, a roof deck with kitchenette, and brand new deep-water dock. Poggenpohl cabinetry can be found throughout the house, and the kitchen has Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Miele appliances built for a chef. Everything can be controlled via a smartphone from the high-resolution security cameras and alarm, to the heating and cooling, Ring door system, and Sonos music. The large deck offers direct access to the pool and spa with sunset views over Long Beach visible from the second floor and roof deck.
By the way, we want to mention that Steve Madden, the shoe and fashion magnate, has again added to his North Haven portfolio. His latest acquisition is 36 Short Beach Road, bought for an even $2 million. The 1,300-square-foot cottage on 1 acre has three bedrooms and two baths. The waterfront residence has a brand new hot tub and newly renovated kitchen and westerly facing views with a dual-level deck.
