Hollywood screenwriter Alec Sokolow and his wife, the photographer Leslie Sokolow, have put their Sagaponack home up for sale for just under $2 million.
The Federal-style house has a wrap-around porch, an art studio and a swimming pool overlooking an agricultural reserve. It is on the north side of Montauk Highway on 2 acres near Wölffer Vineyard.
Listing broker Tracy Annacone of Town & Country Real Estate said the house went on the market recently because with two teenage children the Sokolows have not been able to use it as much as they would like. They’ve owned it for about six or seven years, she said.
An interested buyer would be “someone who is very artsy or creative, not somebody looking for the cookie-cutter new construction,” according to Ms. Annacone.
The house, which sits at the end of a long, wooded drive, has four bedrooms and a loft, three and a half baths, an exercise loft, chef’s kitchen, pool house and separate barn with living quarters. The asking price is $1.999 million.
Mr. Sokolow worked on “Toy Story,” “Garfield” and “Daddy Day Care,” among other movies. Ms. Sokolow is best known for large-scale abstract photographs of the physical world, according to her website.
