Stony Brook Southampton Hospital will participate in a full-scale mass casualty surge exercise with local police, fire and emergency medical services departments on Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon. As it endeavors to alleviate a critical shortage of housing, and with it the daily “trade parade” of vehicular traffic and a deficit of employees in the commercial and municipal sectors, the Southampton Town Board debated elements of proposed code amendments related to affordable accessory dwelling units at its April 11 work session.
