Governor Andrew Cuomo will not be marching in this year’s Southampton Village Fourth of July parade on Wednesday, despite rumblings in a Southampton Town Democratic Committee email sent out this week.
The committee said it heard from the governor’s office that he might be marching, and was starting to gather supporters to join him, according to the email.
But on Tuesday, a spokesman for the governor put an end to the speculation.
“The governor is not going to be marching in Southampton,” said Josh Vlasto, deputy communications director for Gov. Cuomo. “He was not planning on coming.”
