Suffolk County Police Crime Stoppers and Southampton Village Police are seeking the public’s help in searching for a woman who they said stole a pair of leather purses from a Hampton Road store late last month, and are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information on the theft.

The woman entered the Perfect Purse at 20 Hampton Road about 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, and made off with the bags while sales staff members were distracted, and then left on foot in an unknown direction, police said. Police have released surveillance footage of the woman.

One bag was a black, 10-inch leather Chanel double-flap purse valued at $3,600, and the other was a gold leather Hermès imitation Birkin purse valued at $700.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-200-TIPS. Calls will be kept confidential, police said. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
