Timothy R. White, the 51-year-old North Sea man who was reported missing on Wednesday, has been located in Oregon, according to Southampton Town Police detectives.

Authorities said Mr. White, who was last seen late Monday night at his home, reported to a police agency in Oregon on Friday after learning that his family had reported him missing.

It was not immediately clear why he was in Oregon.

The Southampton Town Police Department is searching for a North Sea man whose family reported him missing on Wednesday evening.

Timothy R. White was last seen at about 10 p.m. on Monday evening at his North Sea residence. His family became concerned when he didn’t return home from work on Tuesday night and has not contacted anyone at the residence.

According to police, Mr. White is about five feet eight inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He has a moustache and was last seen wearing jeans and a white T-shirt. Police released a photograph of Mr. White.

Mr. White is believed to be driving a 1987 red Chevrolet pickup truck with New York commercial plates, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call the Southampton Town Police Department at 728-5000 or the police tips hotline at 728-3454.

Got a wife and kids out near sag-a-pon-ack,
I went out for a ride and I never went back.
Like a river that don't know where it's flowing,
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going.
