Fire Reported On Middle Pond Road Thursday

Firefighters were called to a blaze at a Southampton home on Thursday morning.

The Southampton Village Fire Department responded to the call at 11:25 a.m. at 141 Middle Pond Road and were supported by the Bridgehampton, Hampton Bays and North Sea fire departments, according to Southampton Village Police Sergeant Michael Joyce.

According to Southampton Village Fire Department public information officer Don King, first responders arrived on the scene eight minutes after the neighbors called and the fire was under control 15 minutes after the alarm went off. One firefighter was transported to Southampton Hospital for medical evaluation. Nearly 75 firefighters, police officers and medical personnel were on the scene.
