The victim and the accused

Aug 12, 2008 6:44 PM

“I can’t see him going out of his way to hurt someone intentionally. It’s just not Anthony,” said Jamie, a woman from upstate New York who said she has been friends with Mr. Oddone for six years. She spoke on the condition that her last name not be used in print.

She said she met Mr. Oddone when they attended the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill. They both used to race go-karts, she said.

He was from the Poughkeepsie, New York, area and headed to Long Island in 2004 when he transferred schools, she said.

Mr. Oddone attended Suffolk County Community College and eventually graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, where he studied accounting and business, according to his profile on the social-networking website Facebook.com. He also played on St. Joseph’s golf team.

At the time of his arrest, he was an employee of the exclusive golf club The Bridge in Noyac.

“Anthony was a very outgoing, caring and generous person,” Jamie recalled, adding, “If anyone was in need of help and he could potentially help them, he would do so without question. This is why this tragedy is such a shock to me.”

She also said she has not known him to get into fights.

“People who met Anthony always seemed to like him ...” she said. “He was someone you could stick in a crowd of people, him knowing not a person, and he’d fit right in with whatever conversation was going on.”

I agree with everything Jamie said. Tone is a great guy i have never seen him hurt anyone as long as i have known him. Tony has always been very caring and helpful. There has got to be more to this story that is not coming out yet. I know Tony and he did not just get off the table and start chocking Mr. Reister.
